Ted Souder, Former Google Insider
Ted Souder is a widely respected authority on the transformative power of embracing Modern Business Transformation in today's business world. As one of Google's earliest employees, Ted spent over 20 years in Chicago and Paris, helping to write one of the greatest business success stories of all time and he is a native Toledoan. While at Google, he served in various senior roles, ultimately as the Head of Industry, Retail and the Founder of the Google CFO Forum. A renowned speaker, Ted captivates audiences with insights on Modern Business Transformation and the development of Entrepreneurial Ecosystems that will drive economic vitality and job creation for years to come.
Adam Levine, Toledo Museum of Art
Adam M. Levine, the Edward Drummond and Florence Scott Libbey director of the Toledo Museum of Art and a scholar of ancient art, is a transformative leader with a deep conviction that art inspires and museums are change agents. Levine graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Dartmouth College, where he majored in anthropology, art history, and mathematics & social science. He continued his studies as a Rhodes Scholar at the University of Oxford, where he earned his master’s degree with distinction and D.Phil. in the history of art. Combining his interests in mathematics and art, in 2009 he co-founded Art Research Technologies, a data and research company that has since gained a following in the commercial art world.

After receiving an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s in Business Administration, Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague quickly acquired real world experience with Ernst & Young. During that time, Robert built a career advising companies world-wide on a variety of complex business matters. Now, as Ohio Treasurer, he still draws on the lessons and expertise he acquired while working in the private sector.
Annie Baymiller, CIO, Owens Corning
Annie Baymiller is the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Owens Corning, a world leader in insulation, roofing, and fiberglass composite materials based in Toledo, Ohio and spanning 33 countries. She is accountable for global information technology with a focus on
digital transformation, analytics, cybersecurity, modern enterprise platforms, and business partnerships. She is passionate about culture, inclusion and diversity, and building best-in-class teams and talent. Annie is certified by the National Association of Corporate Directors and
Carnegie Mellon for Cybersecurity Oversight, is PMP-certified, and a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI). She was recognized externally with a “Ones to Watch” award in 2019 by the CIO Executive Council.
Tracy Hedrick, The Ohio State University
Senior Associate Athletic Director and Chief Marketing Officer for The Ohio State Department of Athletics and Business Advancement. Tracy Hedrick is a storyteller, and visionary brand leader, and brings a record of delivering innovative marketing programs that drive results at the highest levels of the entertainment industry and college athletics. As a leader, she is dedicated to creating inclusive cultures, building teams that treat everyone with respect, learning about what makes individuals shine, and never accepting something simply because it's the way it has always been done. She will be joining us for our Innovation in Sports Panel.
Lisa Hawker, Hylant
Lisa Hawker is Chief Growth Officer for Hylant and is charged with overall strategic direction, growth, profitability, retention and best practices for Hylant's nearly $50 million Employee Benefits Operations spanning 17 offices throughout the Midwest and South., Hylant offers complete risk management services, employee benefits consultation, wellness strategies, loss control, healthcare management and a wide array of insurance solutions for both businesses and individuals. She will lead our fireside chat on cybersecurity innovation.
Alex Clark, Hylant
With extensive experience in the insurance industry, Alex Clark is the Cyber Practice Leader and serves as a resource for all things cyber, technology, and media. Alex engages both clients and colleagues to assist in the placement of coverage, enhancing the understanding of cyber and emerging risk, and pre and post breach readiness through incident response planning. Alex takes a hands-on approach not only placing coverage with the correct carrier but making sure our clients know how to utilize the policy, how to prevent incidents, minimize payouts, and execute incident response plans come claim time. Alex currently holds a Life & Health license, P&C license, and a Cyber Risk Manager designation. He is currently a member of PLUS - Professional Liability Underwriting Society.
LeSean Shaw, Actual Reality Technologies
LeSean Shaw is a passionate advocate for technological growth and inclusivity, deeply rooted in his hometown of Toledo, Ohio. As an entrepreneur, husband, and father, LeSean has committed to fostering innovation and community empowerment through tech. Currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer of Actual Reality Technologies and Vice President of the nonprofit organization EmpoweredAI, LeSean leverages his expertise and network to drive meaningful change in the tech landscape. With a focus on building inclusive tech ecosystems, LeSean strives to create opportunities for all individuals to thrive in the digital age.
Mohamed Aly, MDBee.ai
Mohamed Aly, With a background enriched by the publication of two papers in Machine Learning, has nurtured a deep-seated passion for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its applications. His engagement with two innovative healthcare startups gave him a unique vantage point to identify key areas for enhancement and potential opportunities. Upon relocating to Toledo, Mohamed discovered an ideal ecosystem for technological entrepreneurship, leading to the inception of his tech venture, MDBee. This startup leverages AI to revolutionize the healthcare industry by simplifying intricate processes and boosting overall efficiency. Through MDBee, Mohamed aims to equip clinicians and healthcare providers with the tools they need to prioritize their core mission: delivering outstanding patient care.
Tom Bush, Actual Reality Technologies
Tom Bush, is a visionary leader and advocate for inclusive innovation, and is transforming Toledo, OH into the AI capital of the Midwest through his groundbreaking initiatives at EmpoweredAI and Actual Reality Technologies. EmpoweredAI is a nonprofit that leverages and teaches augmented intelligence uplifting communities, fostering an ecosystem where technology empowers all. At Actual Reality Technologies, Tom and his team are revolutionizing the local manufacturing landscape by delivering cutting-edge Industry 5.0, AI, and machine learning solutions optimizing processes and driving innovation. With a background pioneering enterprise cloud migration at Amazon Web Services and over 15 years in aerospace manufacturing, Tom bridges advanced technologies with real-world applications. Through his leadership, commitment to inclusivity, and practical achievements, Tom advances the tech landscape while ensuring the benefits of progress are accessible to all.
Adeline Ashley, Sitecore
Adeline Ashley is a digital strategy, transformation and customer experience expert. She has delivered numerous speaking engagements across the US and globally on customer experience and digital innovation. She is currently writing her first book, "Shop, Stream Heal," set to be published in early fall. She is passionate about helping clients through smart marketing efforts that create awareness, build brand image, and improve customer experience. She is currently Director of Customer Engagement at Sitecore, a global customer experience management company that provides web content management, and multichannel marketing automation software. Sitecore clients include Puma, Anthropic, Brex, Shopify, Sonos and other leading brands. She will join us for our innovation and AI panel.
Sam Chang, Midstory
Sam Chang never thought he'd be back in Toledo after spending time on the East Coast. But his return to Toledo sparked the birth of Midstory, a collective endeavor aimed at unearthing and empowering the narratives of the Midwest. As President and Co-founder of Midstory Media ThinkHub, Chang leads a mission to challenge, uplift, and clarify the region's stories through innovative multimedia storytelling and research. His perspective highlights the transformative potential of education, innovation, and multimedia in reshaping narratives and driving positive outcomes, encouraging others to rediscover and contribute to the region's growth.
Ryan Bunch, Toledo Design Collective
Ryan A. Bunch is a writer, artist, and creative placemaking professional advocating for more equitable and inclusive practices in community development and urban planning and design. He currently serves as Studio Director at Toledo Design Collective. Previously, he served as Senior Director, Outreach & Advocacy at United Way of Greater Toledo, Director of Community Initiatives at The Arts Commission, and Arts & Entertainment Editor at Toledo City Paper and Ann Arbor Current Magazines. As a civic advocate, Ryan has been active in many local groups and organizations and established Toledo’s Culture Trail Framework, 419 Day, and the Adams Street Zombie Crawl. He holds a B.A. in English from the University of Toledo, is a Nonprofit Administration alumnus of The Washington Center, and recipient of Toledo's 20 Under 40 Leadership Award. Ryan is the founder of Midcoast | OHMI Midcoast Industrial Workshop, fostering creative communication and collaboration across Ohio and Michigan. He will lead our education innovation panel.
Dr. Brooke Schlageter, Partners in Education
Brooke Schlageter is an educational leader with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Curriculum and Instruction, a Masters Degree in Education, and a wide variety of experience working with students of all ages in corporate, nonprofit, and education settings. She is skilled in strategic planning, learning design, curriculum development, LMS systems, teacher training, and educational leadership. She is Executive Director of Partners in Education of Toledo. She will join us for our innovation and education panel.
Dave Gierke, Toledo School for the Arts
Dave Gierke is a former musician who toured the east-coast with his Toledo based group Touched from 1981-1992. During that time he also started Daves’ Drum Depot & The Toledo Drum School. He is currently Director of Development for the Toledo School for the Arts, a public charter school based in downtown Toledo focused on providing a rigorous academic curriculum and an intense visual and performing arts environment. He will join us for our innovation and education panel.
Andrew Newby, Toledo Spirits
Andrew Newby energetically develops small batch spirits, coffee, and craft beer in engaging spaces. He is CEO and Co-founder of Toledo Spirits, a craft distiller of whiskies and spirits produced using regional ingredients. The company marries traditional processes with today’s technology to meet the need for small batch premium and experimental spirits. Their products are Toledo-made, hand-crafted, unique, and intoxicating. Hear his take on entrepreneurship and how to scale a local business into a national brand.
John Amato, Jupmode
As the proud owner of Jupmode, a screen printing, embroidery, and promotional product shop right here in Toledo, John Amato is all about driving business while staying rooted in our community. 2024 marks a big move for Jupmode as it settles into its third production spot in 13 years. But amidst all the changes, one thing stays constant: Jupmode's dedication to honoring Toledo's history while riding the wave of today's energy and excitement. Rick Avery, Front & Boundary
Rick Avery founded Front & Boundary, a dynamic start-up dedicated to creating the perfect home office or workspace, to pursue his passion to create, foster craftsmanship, and build a community of makers. Prior to taking his entrepreneurial leap, Rick held key leadership roles in public and private organizations, including Owens Corning, Welltower, and MTD Products. At Owens Corning, he led the company's global indirect sourcing efforts, supplier ESG performance, and real estate function. He spearheaded initiatives that resulted in significant productivity improvements, working capital benefits, and cash generation. During his tenure at Welltower, Rick made meaningful contributions to the company's sustainability initiatives, leading to recognition in prestigious sustainability indices such as the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index. He will join us for our local business innovation panel.
Shannon Jurca, NSG
Shannon Jurca is the R&D Manager for NSG North America Thin Film Technology Group. The NSG
Group is a leading supplier of glass and glazing systems in the business areas of Architectural,
Automotive and Solar technology. The Thin Film Technology group focuses on adding value to glass substrates through optimizing optical and electrical coatings for these markets. Shannon has worked for NSG Group for 15+ years, with 10 of those years in glass manufacturing and the remainder in Thin Film R&D. She has a Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from University of California Davis, her Bachelor’s degree is from Iowa State University. Her role as an R&D Manager is to foster an innovative culture to deliver unique solutions for NSG business objectives.
Joe Nowoiejski, Robotic Technical Support Services
Joe Nowowiejski is the Vice President and co-founder of Robotic Technical Support Services, Inc. With over a decade of experience in the industrial robot systems industry, he and his wife, Bethany, have grown RTSS into a successful family-owned local business. Joe's expertise lies in engineering and project management, and he now focuses on company strategy and business development, striving to connect cutting-edge technology with practical use. He will join us for our Smart Manufacturing panel.
Jessica Bryant, O-I
Jessica Bryant, Manufacturing Intelligence and Controls Squad Leader, O-I Glass, Inc.
Jessica Bryant leads the Manufacturing Intelligence and Controls team at O-I, a global leader in glass containers for the food and beverage industries, headquartered in Perrysburg, OH. O-I has 60+ plants in over 15 countries, and sells over 40 billion glass containers each year. Jessica and her team are responsible for advancing the control systems for the glass container manufacturing process, integrating capabilities for the collection of new data, and leveraging data to gain insights to further optimize the process. Jessica has been with O-I for 10+ years, and has spent her career in technology development and R&D, with 20 issued US patents. She holds a Master's degree in Engineering from the University of Toledo, and a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Tegan Wrigley, North Star BlueScope
Tegan Wrigley was named Strategy and Transformation Manager for North Star BlueScope (NSBS) in 2023, relocating from Melbourne Australia. With more than 13 years of extensive corporate finance and strategy experience, she has advanced through various roles across strategy and commercial functions. Prior to joining NSBS, Tegan led the Commercial Team for BlueScope’s Building Components business in Victoria, Australia. From 2016 to 2020, Tegan served as a Senior Analyst at BlueScope supporting various M&A and large commercial steel projects across BlueScope’s global portfolio including establishing the Business Transformation function for BlueScope’s joint venture with Nippon Steel in Singapore (2019).
Prior to BlueScope she held roles across the aviation industry and corporate finance advisory. She holds bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and business from Queensland University of Technology and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
